Three dimensions of Brain Focused Coaching

Our leadership approach blends Art with Neuroscience. All Art exists to create a state of mind that liberates imagination. Neuroscience helps to unlock some of the brain’s secrets and better equips us with the skills to lead ourselves and others in today’s fast-paced global environment.

To support you on your leadership journey, Brain Focused Coaching provides a comprehensive set of tools and techniques focused on the latest discoveries in neuroscience. There is evidence in neuroscience research that the most emotionally intelligent and effective people are those who can use different parts of their brain together efficiently. By following the path we lay out for you, you will develop your agility and your ability to think on your feet.

Our ambition is to empower you to lead your organization with impact, efficiency and emotional intelligence.

Your brain conducts the orchestral performance of your physical, mental and emotional state.

By integrating neuroscience, Brain Focused Coaching stimulates the whole brain in order to physically energize you, to sharpen your mental focus and to heighten your emotional intelligence. By rewiring your brain you will create a new mindset, and you will gain in resilience and effectiveness.

Enhance your emotional intelligence

Being emotionally smart involves the ability to perceive, assess and positively influence your own emotions as well as others'. When you master your emotions, you establish the foundation to become emotionally resilient and to respond appropriately in all situations, especially in environments of challenge, stress and high pressure. By understanding your own emotions, you will find it easier to respond rather than to react. By developing the capacity to perceive the emotions of others, you will be able to positively influence and motivate your team. You will inspire a new culture and a new generation of leaders.

Did you know that the brain is highly reactive to perceived threats to status? This can lead to a fight, flight or freeze response, an involuntary state that Daniel Goleman calls an amygdala hijack. A safe working environment is critical to people’s ability to learn, engage and develop creative thinking.

Sharpen your mental focus

Being mentally fit and focused plays a major role in your performance as a leader. When you master the ability to concentrate peacefully and with confidence on one task at a time, you will naturally become a more mentally resilient leader.

Did you know that there is a specific part of your brain that is responsible for executive activity (thinking and working)? It’s called the prefrontal cortex. This region of the brain is bigger in humans than other animals, and it differentiates us from other mammals. Our capacity for executive activity maxes out at about seven hours a day. After that, performance decreases. Multitasking fatigues the brain even faster, reducing the optimal working time even further. Around eight hours of sleep are essential for your brain to recover.

Boost your physical energy

An awareness of the mind-body connection, will help you to increase your physical energy. By practicing mindfulness, relaxation and breathing techniques you will significantly increase your ability to recover from stress and foster creativity. You will gain direct access to your body’s restorative capacity, and you will naturally generate a higher level of energy.

Did you know that you have two complimentary nervous systems that are constantly striving to be in balance? When you overwork, your sympathetic nervous system becomes overloaded. When this happens, your entire body is affected. Your heartbeat increases. Your blood pressure increases. Your digestion is blocked, and your sleep is affected. During relaxation, you access your parasympathetic nervous system, which slows your heartbeat, stimulates your digestion and triggers a deep resting state in which you can recharge and recover. Within the brain, these two nervous systems are regulated by the part of the brain called hypothalamus.
